Making Momentum CIC Substances Hazardous to Health Assessment

The purpose of this Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) assessment is to ensure that all substances used and stored at Making Momentum, are managed in a way that minimises health risks to horses, clients, visitors and staff, and the environmental. The document outlines the potential hazards associated with chemicals, medications, and other substances which may be found on site and details appropriate measures for their safe use, storage, and disposal. Making Momentum provides specialised services to neurodivergent and disabled children, who may have specific health needs and vulnerabilities, including conditions like Pica (the consumption of non-food substances) and differences in cognitive processing. These children may be at higher risk when exposed to hazardous substances, so it is essential to take proactive steps to protect their health and wellbeing. By following this assessment, Making Momentum ensures a safe environment for all while minimising exposure to potentially harmful substances.
